🏰 Wandering the cobblestone streets of Prague
☀️☀️☀️ Bathing in the endless sunshine of Dubai,
🌆 Becoming part of the neverending frenzy of Tokyo?
I can help you get just that.
In this 4-week course, I will teach you everything you need to know about teaching english abroaD, complete with actionable lessons on how to land a job—and have the time of your life—as an ESL Teacher.
Here's how things might look:
You want to teach abroad and your first step is to Google some answers.
You find a thread in Reddit that seems to answer your question.
You read the “answer,” only to find 5 or 6 more answers that seem to contradict the initial answer.
You go to Facebook to see if anyone has real, concrete answers.
You find nothing but trolls, one-in-a-thousand horror stories, and meme-caliber knowledge. And the cycle continues.
I know your frustrations all tOo well
There is too much noise and nonsense on the internet. There are a profound number disgruntled people who spread lies about all the reasons YOU CAN'T teach English abroad.
It's so disheartening.
And because it is so easy to reach hundreds if not thousands of people with these confusing, and often untruthful messages, it can feel like you're all alone on a hamster wheel of confusion.
You are not alone.
Nearly everyone who embarks on a TEFL journey struggles to find relevant information around salary, travel, interviewing, certification, paperwork, demo classes, and other key areas. The confusion and frustration can leave you feeling anxious and unfit to teach.
That was me.
march 05, 2008
Over a decade ago, I decided I was leaving America to travel the world.
Being fed up with my job, apartment, and city gave me enough courage to say to hell with it. I would take the first job that was offered to me.
I had no teaching experience with adults, no certification, and I could hardly tell you what present continuous meant.
When I tried to look up information on the internet, I would get stuck in some rabbit hole of negativity and misinformation. Even worse, when I tried reaching out, I would get snarky comments on how naive my questions were.
I just stopped asking, stopped looking and decided to take chances wherever i could find them.
10 years later, I can tell you I have been through any and every experience you can imagine (including deportation, yikes!). I know how to spot scammers, how to charm managers, and how to keep students of all ages engaged and happy.
In my time in the ESL industry, I have successfully encompassed the following roles:
ESL teacher
Business English tutor (lots of cool executive clients)
ESL UI designer (where I helped create an English learning platform on an iPad-like device)
ESL Voiceover artist (lots of language books and practice conversations)
Training School Branch Manager (I helped open and run a language school in China)
ESL Coordinator (American International School)
Director of Professional Development (American International School)
Assistant Head (Turkish International School in Kyrgyzstan)
Don't let people tell you a TEFL career isn't real. I have used it again and again to move into higher roles with higher wages. If you think becoming an ESL teacher is a downgrade, think again. There are real and amazing opportunities waiting for you if you're ready.
Why should you do this?
My philosophy is very simple. It's all about where you are now and what you want to achieve. My job is to help you get there.
Through this program you will:
- Explore the exact action steps you need to take to become an ESL teacher
- Address any misconceptions about TEFL teaching
- Target your most advantageous qualities and use them as a lighthouse for employers
- Map out a carefully considered application process that will get you hired faster
The direct and immediate benefits to you:
- Stay motivated throughout your journey
- Instill more purpose and passion in your life
- Change some of your limiting beliefs about TEFL
- Overcome fear and resistance
- Realize your true potential
- And more than anything, live your biggest dream
How does it work?
As a team, we will work through a systematic approach that requires you to follow through on it with a committed effort.
The course was designed to be completed in four weeks, but you can take as much time as you need as it is self-paced.
There will be a 1-hour group call that I will host each week where you and other members of the course can discuss what you have learned, ask questions, and prepare for the following week. This isn't to make you feel pressured to finish the work, rather it is a place to hold you accountable, provide guidance, give feedback and for you to have a community that supports your dreams.
You will also have exclusive access to me for a 30-minute, individual coaching call to be used at your discretion.
These components will ensure a continual momentum and will also allow us to spread out the work and make a more steady progress toward your goal.

When does the course start and finish?
This course begins April 30, 2018. It will end May 21, 2018. You will always have access to it, so you can come back for a refresher any time!
How does the course work?
Each week you will be delivered a set of material to work through. Rather than give you everything at once, my experience has taught me that it's important to focus on one thing at a time. My goal is to get you ready to teach abroad, not throw a bunch of information at you and hope for the best. For this reason, you will be given one module per week. At the end of that week, I will conduct a group coaching session to go through what we've learned, answer questions, and prepare for the following week.
How long do I have access to the course?
For as long as your heart desires, my friend.
What if I'm not certified to teach ESL?
Then this course will help you navigate that hurdle. For a whole host of reasons, many ESL teachers are not certified when they begin. This is not as big a problem as you might imagine.
What if I'm a non-native English speaker?
Great! You have an unfair advantage over native speakers! You know the pain points of learning English and can use that to your benefit. Did you know that Non-native English speakers are in more ESL positions - worldwide - than native English speakers? #Boom!
What if I am unhappy with the course?
First, it is my duty to make sure that I serve you. If you are unhappy, please send an email within 30 days to info@teachenglishabroad.co and let me know why you're unsatisfied. If you and I can't turn things around, I will give you a full refund.
